Biography
Sahar Deinparvar is a compassionate counselor with a unique background in physiotherapy. Working in Kuwait for 10 years inspired her passion for raising awareness about Mental Health and overall well-being in the Kuwaiti community. She holds a Master of Education in International Counseling from Lehigh University, U.S.A.
In psychotherapy, Sahar takes an existential approach while integrating the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, psychodynamic, interpersonal, and cognitive-behavioral therapy approaches for adolescents and adults. While she is trained as a generalist, she has a keen interest in treating a number of concerns including mood and anxiety disorders, stress, relationship problems, life transition struggles, women’s issues, diversity/multicultural matters, and chronic pain management.
A member of the American Psychological Association (APA), Sahar is deeply committed to community outreach, awareness, and breaking down barriers to mental health care in Kuwait. She holds certifications in level (1) Internal Family System training (IFS institute, U.S.A.), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR, East Coast Mindfulness, U.S.A.), and Psychiatric Management for Borderline Personality Disorders (Harvard Medical School), Psychological First Aid (John Hopkins University, U.S.A.). Fluent in English, Arabic, and Farsi, Sahar offers psychotherapy services that prioritize holistic well-being
